This is me!

 Hello everyone, my name's Riley!

A few things about me that I want you to know:

I love my family and friends so much and enjoy spending time with them. I love setting goals for myself which help me to stay more motivated even through hard or monotonous times.  I love playing sports (pickleball and spikeball are my favorites right now) and hiking. Also, my favorite food is pizza and I would eat it every day if I could.

I love to learn! I especially have found that learning about the human body and how it works really fascinates me. I have been working toward my bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology which has helped me to learn a lot about our body's capabilities and how to teach and help others learn about their body's potential. I also just finished an associate of science degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant program. I hope to start working as a Physical Therapist Assistant soon! My goal is to take what I've learned in all my classes thus far and help others recover and work towards becoming their best self, physically and even mentally at times. It has been cool to see through my internships with physical therapy how someone's mental and emotional state can improve when their body is working the way they would like it to. It is a privilege to be able to help people progress to that point.

Something that I have learned in the last few years is that I have the ability to be as intelligent and knowledgeable in a certain subject as I will push myself to be. I truly believe we all have this ability and it is a choice that we each make personally whether to use the resources we have at our fingertips or not. I have made it a goal to take this concept and push myself to learn the most that I can in the Family Relations course that I am taking this semester. This blog is a designated place where I will post my insights and perspectives that I am learning from the class. I would love to target my posts toward fellow young adults who, like me, haven't had the opportunity to learn about the widespread research and knowledge out there about the family unit in today's world. I look forward to sharing my thoughts and hope that they will help someone else become inspired to learn as well!
